TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular Joint) disorder
TMJ disorder is a debilitating condition causing intense pain and discomfort in the jaw, head, ear and neck. The British Dental Health Foundation estimates that 1 in 4 people suffer with TMJ-we believe this figure to be far greater, as TMJ is often overlooked. Pain and dysfunction are the main concerns when a client presents with TMJ.
The problem can stem from an over-use of the muscles and surrounding tissues, which then leads to a physical problem with the disc of the TMJ itself. Using a unique TMJ protocol (developed by Tracey Keirnan, Advanced massage therapist and dental nurse) of advanced clinical massage work, trigger point therapy and cranio sacral therapy, a significant reduction in pain and improved function can be achieved.
